Aphrodite Jones
Love the podcast, but having Aphrodite Jones on was a huge mistake. She made a few really gross comments that I just can’t get past. Her talking about how she didn’t care that the other author was working with Shanda’s family because “So? I’m writing about the girls.” She implied that Shanda was the lesser element of the case and her murderers were more important. The victim should always be central to the case. It’s about THEM, after all, or that’s the way it should be. Also her comment about “Don’t tell a man you’ve been hit, because then they will hit you” was extremely sexist and disgusting. Sexism works both ways, and it’s just as wrong to generalize men the way women are generalized

This podcast has us SUCKED in. I’m headed in vacation and excited to get all caught up on their amazing series. Well told by 2 women who have quite a history. Thank you both for an inside look into a dark dark past. Can’t wait to listen to the rest.

I think the way the hosts tell the story is light and refreshing, because most of true crime is dark and depressing....Read full review »
