A Failure of a Podcast for a Failure of a Man
Ryan Kavanaugh is an expert on failure. He drove a massively successful company, relativity media, into the ground. He tried to secretly oust a member of his business with a fake sexual harassment accusation, but his attempt at secrecy failed. He tried to create a rival to tiktok, but he failed at creating a social media app people actually want to use. He promised to give a large donation to a charitable organization, but he failed to follow through. He failed to pay his nanny. He failed the incredibly simple task of not driving a car drunk, resulting in a “wet and reckless” charge. The list goes on. Who better to host a podcast on failure than the biggest failure in all of Hollywood—Ryan Kavanaugh? Yet somehow, Ryan’s uncanny ability to fail despite having every advantage imaginable trumps all. I hoped that through analyzing his multitude of failures in this podcast, Ryan would be honest and humble—owning up to his numerous failures, rightfully assigning himself the blame he deserves. However, Ryan’s show features guests. He isn’t analyzing his own numerous failures, but rather highlighting the failures of others. Will there be an episode on his failed management of relativity media? Seemingly not, as he’d rather shift the focus to someone else’s failures than work through his own. In a way, it’s perfect—a podcast about failure, hosted by an expert on failure, that fails to succeed due to Ryan’s failure to look inward and analyze his own failures. This could have been a good podcast had Ryan been willing to talk through his own failures, acknowledging his many shortcomings as a man and businessman. But as usual, Ryan failed. And I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that a man known for failing failed yet again. In conclusion, this is a failure of a podcast from a failure of a man. I’d give it zero stars if I could, but that’s not an option. I hesitate to recommend this podcast to anyone, other than masochists and those who can’t help but gawk at Ryan’s continued failures.

Why is Harvey Weinstein allowed a podcast? Honestly disgusted.

The audio of this podcast, for a millionaire who can afford better mics and editing, was awful. This guest he has? After episode one, I’m all set with ever watching again. Between this guy he had on for ep.1 and his friendship with Weinstein, it leaves a horrible taste in my mouth about Ryan....Read full review »

The host appeared to face some challenges in presenting information coherently, which made following the discussion a bit difficult. Additionally, the humor attempts didn't quite hit the mark, leaving me very...Read full review »
