Nice idea but ironically damaging unscientific messages in some episodes
I loved this podcast at first and I still love the idea of having this collection of positive birth stories but for someone who claims that she wants women to be more informed she does allow an awful lot of very very dubious kooky talk on here. Also I think some of the ideas about the level of consciousness a baby has in the womb are just insane. I can see how being permanently stressed during pregnancy might have a negative impact on your baby compared to being mostly relaxed during pregnancy, but your baby DOES NOT understand what you are saying when they are in the womb and they definitely can’t read your thoughts! In one episode she claims that parents who are initially shocked or worried when they became pregnant should think about making sure they tell their baby they love them to undo any early damage from the baby knowing their thoughts! Apparently the baby “knows” if it was an accident because it can read your mind! This must make women who believe it feel so awful and guilty about the supposed “damage” they’ve done to their baby.
