Episode 392: The Boy and the Heron

Description
Hayao Miyazaki returns, 10 years after his semi-autobiographical previous final feature which led him into a lengthy hiatus. In what many believed would now be Miyazaki's new final film before retirement, the legendary animation director tackles blending the real life grief of a boy who loses his mother in World War II with a fantastical story about an artistic creator passing the torch. Though there are many outstanding individual elements, this one didn't come together for us in the way that most of his films have, and the lack of emotional connection to it left us a little disappointed. * Note - full spoilers in effect for entire episode * Follow & Subscribe Aaron TwitterFacebookLetterboxd Patrick TwitterAn Original Series Podcast Twitter Feelin' Film FacebookTwitterWebsiteLetterboxdYouTubeEmail [email protected]' Film on Apple PodcastsFeelin' Film on SpotifyFeelin' Film on RepodFeelin' Film on StitcherFeelin' Film on PodchaserNow Playing Network Join the Facebook Discussion Group Join the Discord Rate/Review us on iTunes and on your podcast app of choice!
