“I tried to make it through the episode on Moon Cycles but couldn’t finish due to the consistent forgetting of names and lack of credit to the proper cultures where the speakers were getting their knowledge from (“That one astrophysicist” or “I think it comes from Egyptian culture”). If you’re going to speak on ancient knowledge, please come correct and do your homework and give proper credit where it’s due so that entire cultures aren’t so easily dismissed and just used for the knowledge we’ve taken from them. Say a specific name; Give context as to the culture’s history and why it was important for the people to know the things that you’re able to utilize now; Their story is just as, if not more important than yours. It may seem small, but in the effort to decolonize ancient knowledge that has been capitalized on with little regard to the people we’ve benefitted from in doing this, it’s extremely important to, at the very least, do a proper history lesson before speaking on such things. Hopefully this feedback is beneficial to your pursuit of ancient and earthly knowledge and practices. Pay your respects, for this is not your knowledge.”
