Drab
This podcast is good when the guest isn’t interested in indulging the host’s addiction to asinine chit-chat, but it mostly drifts away from the subject of film and into “do you remember when we did that thing” and mucho nauseating chuckling. At this point, this type of content represents at least 60% of the podcast, which is plain irritating. I hope this changes. Also, although it’s terribly trendy and “woke” to include a trigger warning at the start of every episode, those introductions exemplify the host’s callous and self-involved laziness. If someone is liable to get upset by your content, why not spend five minutes zeroing in on when exactly the subject comes up, so that people who want to avoid it actually can do? “We talk about dark things so just skip those bits” is not a trigger warning, it’s a warning that you want to look thoughtful but are too darn lazy to actually spend an extra five minutes doing something about it. This is a decent idea for a podcast and there’s potential but the irritation factor is strong.
