“This is a very energetic podcast. As a former teacher, I am very excited that somebody is out there, encouraging people to think critically. I think our whole society could use a class in critical thinking. In honor of thinking critically, I would like to bring forth some information that was not brought up in the episode regarding why critical thinking, is not taught in schools. I taught in a high school for nearly 20 years. For many years critical thinking, was part of our curriculum. It was part of our assessments, and it was a very important goal for us to help students think critically. However, after no child left behind, came in and the flooding of testing and outside curriculums geared towards that testing, many things changed in schools. That is when I began to see a lack of critical thinking being valued. Well, I always kept it as part of my classroom for new teachers. It was not going to be as much of a focus.”
