Description
Aaron Leasher is a Minor League Baseball Left-handed Pitcher in the San Diego Padres Organization. A quick background on Aaron, he played collegiately at Morehead State University, a Division I program in Morehead, Kentucky. Following his junior year there he was drafted in the 6th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Diego Padres. In 2021, his most recent season he split time between Double A and Triple A, pitching a totaled 64 2/3 innings with 62 strikeouts. Aaron is currently starting his 5th season with the San Diego Padres Organization.
In this podcast, we start off looking back and discussing his freshman year at Morehead State University, and how he overcame and learned from his struggles on the mound. We also discuss what led to his big velocity jump on the mound and the process it took to make it happen.
Aaron and I also talk about what his path to the MLB looks like, learning from and collaborating with other professional pitchers, and why and how baseball turns into a job once in pro ball. We than dive into a conversation about his professional baseball offseason, looking at his offseason plan in the weight room and his offseason throwing program with how he’ll use it to become more consistent on the mound. We finish off this podcast talking about his first invitation to Big League Spring Training and what that experience was like, as well as what Aaron believes he would be doing if he wasn’t playing baseball.
