Wonderful podcast, blending old and new, the macabre and comedy!!!
I love this podcast for so many reasons! I am 33 and love a good horror story. However I like variety. Not all have to end badly. The stories here have their fair share of creepy endings that leave you hanging, and the occasional happy ending. Also it’s never ALL dark, they have a wonderful sense of humor, even their commercials are funny! They all act wonderfully and their voices are truly captivating. Perhaps the BIGGEST reason I like this show is because I am a fan of old time radio. I love old time shows such as “the Whistler”, “The Shadow”, etc. this podcast is the best modern radio entertainment period! And it’s obvious they know old time radio too! I am constantly seeing nods to the classics and even learning more about them. The episodes they did on “All night radio” were truly magnificent and they summed it up the best in that they were paying homage to “the theater of the mind.” I wish there were more groups like them. Good audio performances are so wonderful. Listening to them is like listening to a modern, updated “golden age” of radio. I simply cannot stress how good their performances are, how entertaining and spooky their stories, and how wonderfully new yet nostalgic they are! They nail every point of entertainment! It is now a life goal of mine to see them perform live in the Slipper Room! I don’t live in New York but I am going someday, to see these guys perform!

Goes with the territory of a spooky podcast I suppose. Other than the bleeding eardrums it's entertaining and humorous. Could be a bit...Read full review »

Creepy fun theater with original stories, occasional readings of classic horror writings, and even some very talented musical acts. But folks, be forewarned that you may find yourself in need of "a particularly strong" aspirin after listening to Fireside Mystery Theatre. I am referring to...Read full review »
