Lives up to its name
A fireside for me evokes images of deep contemplation of meaning, of relationship to the earth, and of connection to past and future generations. Already Blair Hodges’ new podcast has led me to reflect on this and more. As a direct descendant of the stake president who ordered the Mountain Meadows Massacre, I found Nora Krug’s insights relatable and moving. And burdened by the heaviness of the times we live in, I found a grim sense of direction in Adam Miller’s commentary on Christian discipleship at the end of the world. Through his dynamic engagement with the authors, Blair did an outstanding job of revealing their ideas to me as the listener. I can’t wait to hear more — and to read these well-selected books!
