Episode 95. Red Snapper fishing
Thank you for all of the great information that y’all provide on this podcast. One piece of information I found very alarming is that all or some charter captains are required by law to turn over information like GPS logs, fuel consumption reports, the number of people on the charter and what was harvested at the end of every trip. They are required to pay around $3000.00 for the equipment and a $70.00 monthly subscription fee for the service. Now that this is mandated by law those cost will go up. Supply and demand. This is clearly a violation of unlawful search and seizure. This gives law enforcement the ability to force you to turn over information they want without going before a judge to request a search warrant. I believe a better solution is to encourage captains and recreational fishermen to volunteer the needed information and they could be able to write off the cost as a voluntary environmental research. I’m all for protecting our environment and protecting our individual liberties. Thank you and God Bless you and yours. Michael

More reviews of Salt Strong Fishing
Loved the story about how they got into fishing as kids then evolved into a career. Also good discussion about how changes are affecting fishing now and for the future.
