Having previously released on Scuffed Recordings, Left Right & Centre & MNSHN Records among others, Croft has carved out his sound by extracting unpredictable and undeniably unique melodies and grooves from generally atonal hardware experiments. The result is a beautifully leftfield, groove-focussed EP that’s rooted in Techno with traces of classic Electro mixed with a solid contemporary UK Bass sound. Words from Croft: "Titled 'Worktops' as an homage to my setup from when I was in between studios, setting up my hardware on my kitchen table. I used to have to alternate between which bit of equipment to have set up on the limited table space. The EP covers all my influences and production styles with the Midland-esque swampy techno, lots of swung drums and intricate percussion, weirdish modular basses and textures, and electro-tinged 80s inspired cheesy riffs/melodies. Dedicated to long days and nights making music on the kitchen table, longing for a studio space, it's stripped back yet full, crafted with a club focus."
