“Focused Compounding is the first value investing podcast I listened to and, in my humble opinion, it’s also the best value investing podcast. I love the dynamic between Geoff and Andrew: Andrew asks Geoff questions (or reader questions) and lets Geoff take center stage. It’s like listening to Einstein interviewing Niels Bohr with Einstein shining a light on Bohr rather than trying to show off his own knowledge (or perhaps Munger interviewing Buffett or vice-versa!).
I also enjoy how, without dumbing anything down, Andrew and Geoff make value investing concepts accessible to people who don’t follow stocks too closely but still consider themselves value investors (like this review’s author). While I enjoy the handful of other value investing podcasts out there, I feel that they get a little too value-nerdy… where, to really understand the discussion, it helps to read Value Investors Club regularly so you’re in-the-know on the hotly debated value stocks there.
Lastly, a disclosure: I’m an investor in Geoff and Andrew’s fund. However, the whole reason I became an investor in the first place is because of this podcast: I learned how the two of them think and that gave me the confidence to put money with them. Not trying to encourage anyone to invest or not invest with them, just pointing out that the podcast is so good that I decided to invest with them!”
