“I’ve been listening to For the Long Run since I started running again on Dec 26, 2023. A few years ago, I was a fairly strong runner, competing in multiple races a year. In 2020, I was told I would never run again. Here I am, four years later, training for The Great Divide Ultra 100 miler. What I love about this podcast most is that it addresses topics that go beyond running. Jonathan interviews the elite and the non-elite, because their stories are equally important. I’ve listened to athletes from various ethnic, social and religious backgrounds share their journey. Whether I have an amazing run or an absolutely awful training day, I find motivation in For the Long Run. I have found that over the last few months, I have changed some of my perspective when it comes to running, racing, goal setting, and life in general, partly because of this podcast. I am also a single mom and deal with some guilt surrounding the sport, but then I listen to these episodes and I am reminded why I’m truly doing this. I need to be physically, mentally and emotionally healthy for myself and my children. Thank you, For the Long Run, for being part of my journey.”
