Women artists. From band vocalists to Scottish and jazz guitar
Listen now
Description
Two from the 1950s to start us off. Lorrae Desmond and Gogi Grant. Lesser known British band singers Majorie Kingsley, Jean Farrar, Mae Cooper and my favourite Doreen Villiers. Jazz vocal and guitar from Mary Osborn. Two tradition Scottish songs Esther Yunson and NIna Rae. Madeline Green sings with Earl Hines. Ivy Benson and her girl band were hugely popular during WW2 and into the 1950s. Ivy plays the sax but no credit to the vocalist.
