fell slightly short..
i love all items mystery, true crime, etc.. and after listening to In the Red Clay and enjoying the whole production, from storytelling to thoughtfully curated music, i was directed here.. there were times i almost couldn’t believe this investigation is from a true event because the tone at times felt out of touch and lacked sensitivity and the music.. my gosh.. just awful. it feels like you’re listening to a corny fake radio mystery story. all that being said, it hasn’t deterred me from listening.. but the story teller is no David Ridgen.

I don’t even care that the last few episodes are subscription. I would’ve been happy to pay. The problem is that for such a horrific, tragic, sad story, the host narrates as if he’s reading a happy go lucky episode of the Reading Rainbow or a fast food commercial.
