“Just listened to the Civil War ep (always love these pods), and I disagree with you guys about the end of the movie. I think the nice little wrap up of the movie not only makes Civil War more palatable to casual viewers, but I think it is an intentional trick on behalf of the filmmakers. The bittersweetness of the last portion convinces the audience that everything is ok, and I think this is because the avengers are in denial that everything is ok, so their lack of cohesion and readiness in the face of Thanos feels that much more shocking. Thanks winning should be obvious coming out of civil war, but I think the end of Civil war is designed to convince the audience that they still have a fighting chance. Anyways, love the pod and thanks for putting all this together!”
