“I have been listening to Fr. John on this podcast since becoming an Orthodox catechumen with my wife close to four years ago and continue now as a baptized member of the Church (Moscow Patriarchate). I consider this podcast along with Fr. Josiah Trenham on The Arena to be crucial to our formation of an Orthodox worldview. Fr. John is kind and gentle but not weak. He is sincere and conservative and never snarky or sarcastic. He is proclaiming the faith as taught for two thousand years by the Holy Orthodox Church. Sometimes he explains the Bible readings line by line. Sometimes he preaches topically. Sometimes he speaks on current events. I usually listen to each episode and then listen again with my wife as we eat supper. I am very thankful to Christ God that we have this resource available to us. If I ever go to Texas I will definitely visit Fr. John and ask his blessing and thank him for his ministry. Bottom line. If you are a Christian then this podcast and also The Arena podcast are indispensable listening during your week. There are several other good ancient faith podcasts (and we listen to those also) but these are in my opinion the best.”
