Really good but some misinformation…
I really enjoy the content, depth, and particularly the narrator’s voice. A great podcast overall. But I take major issue with information presented in S2 regarding child protective services. As a child protection social worker of 13 years and counting (not in Maine) I know there are things to improve in the system. But to just completely villainize all of child protection and child protection workers is wrong. There are many, many extraordinary CPS workers who genuinely care about children’s safety, and work diligently with families to resolve serious safety problems that have resulted in harm to children. I see it every day with my own eyes! We end every single day exhausted from efforts to help families. And let me be absolutely clear on this — staff (workers, supervisors, etc) DO NOT get bonuses for removing children or having children adopted, as it says in the podcast! We are paid a regular salary and that’s it. To spread this type of misinformation is VERY irresponsible because people just eat it up and believe it. You have a responsibility to fact-check this and post a correction on your podcast so as not to further spread this lie. Your podcast is good in so many ways - please do better and make amends on this point.

I love this podcast. Scott’s voice is somehow both soothing and captivating. I love the mystery and the opportunity for this genre of podcasts to bring closure and justice to victims and their loved ones. Good listening that respects the victim.

I love investigative podcasts. There are some others that could use this format. Excellent work.
