Breona is a professional sex therapist and author who lives not far from her hometown of Mt. Vernon, WA: home to the annual tulip festival. Growing up, Breona didn’t have many resources to answer her questions about sex. An early investigation to online porn was discovered by her parents and inspired her mother to have The Talk with her, but questions remained about being “in love” and responding to her body’s sexual instincts. College provided opportunities to finally dive into the “full menu” of sex, but she eventually realized she wasn’t enjoying sex so much as performing it for her partners.
Coming out and finally having conversations about pleasure with her partners inspired her to become a sex therapist and help others discover themselves. One way she’s done that is by writing The Clitarus Chronicles, a humorous and educational story about Clitty: an adorable, clitoris-shaped, cartoon dinosaur with the dream to write a novel but needs help figuring out the climax. The book features a meaningful metaphor about prioritizing pleasure and communication with partners and it’s illustrated by Fruitbowl’s multi-talented editor, Danny Tayara!
