Always interesting tidbits
Their stories often cause that “Why have I never heard of this before” feeling, which is great. It means the hosts have really done their homework to find interesting stories which have been largely neglected. I like the two hosts and their back and forth. Not super slick, but I get that kind of down-home feeling that they are really having fun doing this. Update May 2016: Still one of my favorites.

I loved the Ripley Radio Podcast and was bummed when they quit and then I stumbled upon Futility Closet. Fascinating and quirky stories from history and beyond. I always learn something and the puzzles get my brain gears moving!

One of my absolute favorites. Minimal banter (which I prefer), good stories, good voices, and one spoiled cat. It’s clear that they appreciate their listeners, and are always read interesting tidbits from emails. Also a great format: I love ending on lateral thinking puzzles!
