without doubt the best of the game design podcasts
Has to be said, from an actual game design point of view, this is without doubt the best of the game design podcasts I follow. As a fledgling game designer, one of the things I struggle with most is knowing if what I am doing is right or the best ways to approach next steps. While there are many podcasts that tackle the topic of mechanics and the like, very few tackle how to actually approach developing them, work around them, approach them from different angles and work them up in to a product you can put in front of people and see if they work. As a podcast run and produced by a group of game designers of different types, disciplines and levels, the advice and discussion are invaluable. I binge listened to all the episodes and pushed 3 of my designers to a point I’ve never managed to get any game to… in three years of trying and tinkering. I can’t recommend this podcast enough, while all the podcasts I listen to on the topic have helped, for sure, the practical help and discussion here really have taken things to a whole new place as a designer. Just a big thanks to the whole group, hopefully someday I’ll get to shake some hands, thank you in person and harass you with my less than adequate designs… but only less than adequate at this stage, this podcast is definitely changing that.

This is a great podcast for board game designers. I’ve listened to a few episodes and consider it time well spent. I had to learn to spell ‘hilarious’ after listening to Deep Design #7 Reception. T. C. Petty the Third gives blue steel solid advice in a hilarious way. Thank you, GDoNC .
