Reality TV Meets Critical Thinking Skills
As hilarious as it is thought-provoking, I’d recommend this podcast for anyone who enjoys reality tv, but feels complicated about it. Maybe there’s a part of you that doesn’t want to give ABC any more money, since they’re running a show that’s promoting overtly Christian ideals, where marriage is the prize, on national tv. Perhaps you notice the lack of POC and find it weird and problematic that The Bachelor fandom and show hasn’t caught up to the rest of the industry in recognizing a need for representation. Or, maybe you’re just wondering how Chris Harrison looks so young after all these years. Haha, what did he do - make a deal with the devil?! Wait a second... Truth is - that complicated feeling you get is called being complicit. We’re all complicit. But this podcast acknowledges that and offers an entirely different lens through which one can view The Bachelor franchise, and it’s like nothing else in Bachelor Nation. @Bachelorclues and @Pacecase are scholars, and they discuss BN news, contemplate how the franchise effects and sometimes mirrors our current culture, and break down episodes with play-by-plays to really shine a light on The Bachelor/ette as the sport it truly is. So, take a listen, and join us in the pit. 😈

I was not aware I had entered the pit until I found myself listening to almost every YouTube channel or podcast that comes out after every episode of our beloved game. This podcast is the biggest gem found in the pit. I am complicit.
