Kansas City Crime History
Growing up outside of Kansas City in the 60s and 70s before moving here, I remember hearing news stories about the River Quay and many buildings that were blowing up. I worked at a couple of Ramada Inns during the late 70s and early 80s while in college and quite a few friends and I drove to Las Vegas in 1980 to take advantage of employee rates at the Tropicana, which was run by Ramada at the time. I just came across this podcast so I have a lot to catch up with, but wonder if the Kansas City mob was skimming from the Tropicana during the Ramada days. Another question I have is when I lived in the Belerive Apartments on Armour Boulevard, the building history supposedly included Al Capone having an apartment on the 8th floor and reportedly was still there occasionally, haunting his old apartment. Any truth to that story?
