“I’ve never been into history but thought I’d give this a try to enrich myself, and was surprised to discover some really fun storytelling by someone clearly passionate about the subject. Podcast host (Pat Garner) sounds like a mix of Donald Sutherland in the cool factor with some Carl Sagan, droppin’ the knowledge. He’s on point and doesn’t waste any time getting into the dirty details. It’s good production quality and feels like if greek gods met the producers of Lord of the Rings to spin off a podcast: epic music, sound effects and all. It’s entertaining and also factual. (It gives me inspiration for naming my new puppy. Watch out world, here comes Artemis! That’ll be fun to say at the dog park.) It’s fun to think that the gods may still be here doing crazy stuff in the background so there’s a hint of fiction... or is it fact? Episodes are long enough for one or two on a jog. I’m an ‘essential worker’ and it’s perfect for my commute in the middle of the night.”
