Grote Markt 1 English: introduction

Description
In recent years, extensive work has been done on the refurbishment of the square. Everyone agreed that the Grote Markt needed to be addressed. It was a cold, drafty square that was not attractively designed, a place to cross quickly but not a pleasant place to stay. Therefore, since 2016, the municipality has regularly held discussions with stakeholders, residents, entrepreneurs, and residents of Groningen. Requests that consistently emerged during these conversations included more room for seating, greenery, and water. As you can see, these are also the elements that play a crucial role in the new layout of the square. This audio tour will guide you through various parts of the Grote Markt, each educating you about the square's history.
