Heavy on laughter, light on humor.
Right out of the gate: This is not a glowing podcast review, but please check out Jon’s great GenXGrownUp YouTube channel if you’re interested in 80s video games and tech toys. The podcast on the other hand… Great subject matter, decent insights sometimes, extremely well produced. I especially appreciate the consistently panned mic audio, which helps differentiate the three speakers based on their placement within the stereo sound stage. The high production values are likely owed to Jon’s experience in broadcast TV production. Unfortunately that experience is also evident in the constant schmoozy banter, which sounds like it’s straight out of a local TV morning news/variety show. The amount of laughter far exceeds the amount of humor. I can’t tell if they’re acting badly or drinking well, but either way, after listening to dozens of episodes (new and old) I’m tired of it.

I am remembering things I hadn't thought about in 30+ years. Well produced with very likeable hosts and a...Read full review »
