“Shane & Max, love the show. It’s so cool to hear Max talk unfiltered and just take us through the process of being a pro golfer. My comment is about today’s rules discussion and the ‘coddling of players.’ I think a lot of those comments from casual fans have to do with the ‘play the ball as it lies’ idea. A lot of casual fans/golfers have no idea they can take relief from certain things and in effect punish themselves with a lie they don’t have to hit from. I’m a double-digit handicapper and even I take relief from sprinkler heads because it’s well within the rules. I think not knowing the rules leads some to be bitter about pros getting preferred lies at times.”
