Starting a new series within the podcast, Independent Film Focus will feature host Daniel Chadwick-Shubat talking to filmmakers and highlighting their projects that might not have a wide release. With episode 1, Daniel talks to filmmaker and one of Canada's top special effects artists, Steven Kostanski about his new film, Frankie Freako.
They talk about his history in the film industry, where his love of film came from and Frankie Freako's relatively quick turnaround from script to screen. Steven also unpacks the process behind turning puppets into monsters on screen.

Frankie Freako Weird Science Evil Dead 2 Army of Darkness Frankie Freako is currently on a film festival tour, with a limited theatrical release throughout North America. Shout! Studios is currently releasing the film in the USA, whilst Raven Banner Entertainment is handling the release in Canada and internationally. It should release on VOD towards the end of the year.
