“I’m so glad to discover a podcast based on my hobby. I’m a high school English teacher, often asked to write recommendation letters, and my daughter is a high school senior. We’ve done 10 visitations, and she is in the process of writing her essays and applications, so the timing for your show could not be better for us.
Let me explain why I could not give you a 5 star rating. Although my daughter is an exceptional student (4.49 gpa, 2020 SAT, 3% rank), most of the schools you mention are out of her league. I wish you included schools in your conversations other than “reach schools.” There are probably folks in your audience who are seeking admission into state schools and smaller private colleges.
We shall continue to listen, and once my daughter moves on, I’ll remain a listener so I can share your insights with my colleagues and students.
One other thing - I find the constant background music to be very annoying. When I listen in my car, I’m distracted. If I’m home listening with headphones, I’m always looking around as your music’s volume rises and lowers. You may think that the bed of background music is a production value, but it takes away from the natural feeling of the conversations.
I’ve been a podcast listener for years, but this is the first review I have ever written on one. The only reason I wrote this is because you asked your subscribers to do so.”
