Adam is doing great!
If you crave a smart wrestling podcast with detailed breakdowns of weekly shows and fantastic instant analysis, Adam Silverstein is your guy. I was so sad when State of Combat got canceled, but loved the way he immediately headed to SoundCloud to keep things going and then re-emerged so quickly with Getting Over. The show’s format is strong and he’s doing a great job. I’ve also been a big fan of Dave Schilling over the years, particularly on the Masked Man Show. He’s a super smart guy with an excellent wrestling mind. At the same time, his experiences as a WWE writer seemed to have soured him on the business completely. I have no doubt that this is justified, and I don’t mind criticism of the shows — it’s actually why I listen to the podcasts! But in his first few episodes, Dave has seemed openly hostile to Adam in a way that bums me out. He always sounds like he’s trying to get off the phone as soon as possible. It’s a sharp difference from the rapport Adam had with Brian Campbell and Jack on State of Combat and I really miss it. Anyway, Adam is great and this show has a ton of potential. Here’s hoping Dave can rediscover his love for wrestling — or make way for someone who does.

SilverKing steers a brilliant wrestling pod. It’s my favourite audio for the refreshing takes and quality insights from Adam, Chris and Jack.
