History is a rolled up carpet you carry around with you
Stumbled on this great podcast on Wondery and thought, Ooh! A ghostly story for spooktober! But what I listened to was a family’s story of identity, and how the reality of a revered elders past can be clouded by investigative truth and how a forgotten victim can become an inspiration to successive generations. Examined by journalist Tristan Redman who is related through marriage to the story, the narrative unfolds through unbelievable connections and ghostly experiences in his youth. A really thought provoking look at how the linear nature of one’s history (ie my grandparent were this and did that) can be disrupted and what that means for our personal identity in the here and now. Highly recommend

The story is giving that wolf in sheep’s clothing/sociopath energy. It very much feels similar to the story of George Hodel in the Root of Evil podcast. Great listen! Thanks: )

I listen to a LOT of true crime. This is a very good show.

I like that this show is funny and not just spooky or scary. I like this tone bc it means someone like me (who is too afraid to listen to real scary ghost stories) can listen and enjoy!
