“Finally! A ghost story podcast that perfectly blends camp, comedy and great storytelling. Roz is a modern-day Elvira of podcasts.
And with that, here’s my little ghost story:
A few years ago, my boyfriend used to live in an old house built in the 1920s. Despite modern renovations, a lot of the houses’ old features remained. One bedroom contained a children’s crawl space that opened into a tiny room filled with pink floral wallpaper (a la Paranormal Activity 2). Doors/ unusual cupboards in the wall would drop into unknown corners of the house (former laundry shoots to rooms that were now blocked off). In his bedroom though was a door that led up to boarded-up attic. This door remained shut at all times with a sturdy hooked lock (something that was difficult to come open on its own). There was always a feeling of something in the house — his dog would refuse to go anywhere near the pantry and the crawl space and snarled and barked at the random doors. One night I was over and had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. On my way back, I noticed in the middle of the dark the outline of the attic door — it was slightly open. I was half asleep and assumed that I was dreaming and went back to bed. The next morning, I awoke and the door was fully open. While we were creeped out, the incident didn’t happen again and there was nothing in the house that felt malevolent. Months later, we had people over and recounted that story. In the morning, the closet door was open again...and it never happened again in the remainder of the two years he lived there.
Hope you enjoyed my story!”
