“Bizarre Foods has never been my show -- it started out as a combo of a 12-yr.old's fascination with "ugh" foods with a focus on the "exotic" of other countries, and with that all the offensive Orientalist, post-colonialist, Suzie Wong-ist stereotypes that cling to this dated anthropological view of the non-white world as "other". I prefer to look at commonalities. Even as Zimmern's show shifted to the more "Gee whiz" look at regional favorites, it just does not grab me. But Zimmern and co-host Molly Mogren do an informative podcast with a balance of sn1ark, foodist-ness and fun to surpass the many other food podcasts available! Listen up.”
