Here's a question for you...
What do golfers look at when they are finished their round, or what do they look at when they are playing during their round?
They look at their score and their handicap.
It appears that it is the be all and end all, the score and the handicap.
But, did you know that the score only tells you how you performed on the day. It just tells you how your game came together in a point scoring situation.
Your score doesn't tell you everything about your game and if you only focus on your score that is the incorrect thing to be focusing on.
This is a better way to focus on improving your playing. Ask yourself these 2 questions at the end of your round.
1. What worked really well today and why?
2. What didn't work well today and why?
When you know what is working then it's your mission to continue to maintain it and keep it going. For those areas that are not working, these areas then need to be improved through lessons and practise so those areas can perform under pressure when you are playing on the course and playing competition.
Remember this is always a work in progress and it will be the process that will get you the result you want.
