All in the delivery
Well researched, interesting topics, but the narration is excruciatingly stiff and halting. I listen at 1.25x speed just to be able to stay focused, but the excessive pauses and exaggerated enunciation are hard to ignore. Sometimes he says “PARRR-tick-yu-lar-lee” five times in an episode. I saw him in a TV interview once and he talked like a normal person, so we know it’s possible! Also, a lot of people are calling the narration “monotone,” but it’s not. He does modulate his voice somewhat. It’s the unnatural pacing and affected lack of fluency that make it so jarring for humans to listen to.

Really great podcast that focuses on cold cases in Texas. I like how they tell the story well, but also talk to the family members so you really get a sense of who the victim was as a person. Keep up the great work!
