“Three years ago I got the WNBA league pass so I could better follow the league. (2 years before CC, I win! 🤣) I love hooping, and I didn’t want basketball to end. I noticed that even with so many games, it was tough to follow. That was when I realized, so much of what we follow in sports is off the court. It isn’t just about the final score, but the stories that take us there. Who is the hot hand? Who is going for history? Who is struggling? Who CHOKES? Knowing these details is what builds the drama when we watch these games we love. Good Game has solved that problem! I have become so much more knowledgeable of the narratives in the game. The table is set for me to understand more completely exactly what the stakes are when I put on a game. But Good Game isn’t just a WNBA pod. It covers all of women’s sports, even the sports I’m not that in to. But, Spain and her crew keep me interested in those stories as well, even if my fandom remains much more peripheral. (Sorry soccer, I know you must be disappointed in me. Oh well. 🤷🏽♂️) I’m glad to be able to hear incredibly knowledgeable and in touch journalism guide me through a complicated and intriguing season of basketball.
