“As a grown man listening to Sophie Townsend’s story, I was taken back to my own mother’s story, losing her husband (my father) when she was 39 and he 43, left with 3 boys under the age of 10, trying to make her way through grief, motherhood, being alone but not really, figuring out the future. I rarely talked with her about what life was like then for her or for us.
I enjoyed the unhurried pace, the slow unraveling of Sophie’s story.”
