Niall Ferguson has great insights. John Cochrane has great insights on economics, but is out of his depth on foreign policy. HR McMaster is a bombastic, warmongering sophist, and the podcast would be better without him. In a recent conversation, he wouldn’t even let Ferguson or guest Victor Davis Hanson speak. And when he did, he responded to them with mere casuistry. He strikes me as not intellectually at the same level as the others here.
