This trio seldom differ on the fundamentals
You often need a strong stomach ( they have zero compassion for some groups in society), a selective grasp of history, a fervent belief in zombie economics ( theories that are dead and buried by facts, but still rise from the grave as zombies) and impregnable sense of entitlement (a belief in American exceptionalism is the polite way to describe it) to listen charitably to this trio. There are some minor intellectual spats, which are enjoyable to listen to, but on the fundamentals they seldom differ. They play different roles: one has an exceptionally high opinion of his infallibility ( and occasionally spits the dummy), another is a hail fellow well met type, and the third has a dry wit, and there is occasional banter: two out of the three like the sport of rugby. All are lucid and highly intelligent. Sometimes they do come up with a gem of an opinion or a particularly compelling turn of phrase. But overall it is the same old, same old: American exceptionalism mixed with neo-liberal economics. Why do I listen to them? I try not to live in an echo chamber. I only wish this trio did the same.

Smart group. Thankfully sometimes interesting guests. But the regular shows are getting old. Viewpoints never change. Everything is predictable. Can’t say I see this group shaping much geopolitical thought moving forward.

So heartening to be reminded we still have such competent and patriotic people.
