• Rabbi Yisrael Meir Kagan, known as the Chafetz Chaim, was born in Dzyatlava, Belarus, in 1838. • He was renowned for his teachings and attracted students from all over Europe; by 1869, his house became known as the Radin Yeshiva. • He published 21 books, most notably Chafetz Chaim (1873) - an organized and clarified sefer regarding the laws of Lashon Hara - and Mishnah Berurah (printed between 1894-1907), an authoritative source of Halacha.
