“I've just recently started listening to free audiobooks at work in the UK and I really like this one - the characters are sympathetically portrayed, and there's a sweetness about the whole story which I think is there because of the listener's inability to ignore Jelena's pain. Everyone knows what it feels like to be discriminated against, no matter how fictional the context. I'd give it a five but much as I love her writing, fifteen minutes of listening to Ms Moore's voice and I'm talking like a chicago gangster from a poor b-class movie. Not her fault, but I can't help thinking the storyline would be better served by an English - or Scots-English - voice.”
