“I am a new listener and was SOOO excited to see the episode title today!! I was obsessed with the Nadia movie in 1984. I lived in the Houston area and was absolutely convinced that I could be the next “discovery” for Bela, who had a gym there. My sister and I repeatedly watched the movie, cut the feet off our socks to create leg warmers, and practiced in our back yard every day for hours. Fast forward to me as a 48 yo woman and I cannot stop laughing at this amazing review of the movie that made me dream of Olympic greatness. 😂. The only thing missed was Bela and Marta’s American accents in this film, also a complete farce from reality. Bravo!! Loved this episode and look forward to more as your newest fan!”
