“I have been following you “shoboy” and Janet ever since you guys were in NYC! I heard you on the radio speaking about your beautiful wife and your anticipation of your first daughter and got hooked right away! You have amazing talent and bring so much insight, joy and laughter to every topic: music, family,
Culture diversity etc. All the things I personally hold dear to me!
This first episode on your podcast was more then what I expected, and I can relate.I am a Dominican-American first grade teacher in the Bronx, NY and without any hesitation during these times especially I felt that it was my duty to be there for my students. I opened up the conversation by reading and discussing a book. Before I could even open the book they all had questions, thoughts and worries. All of a sudden I was teaching anti-racism .Our children are really all listening and more aware of what’s going on then what many of us think ! I am so happy that I am able to give them that space to learn, discover, self love and feel safe. You two are amazing parents and I have no doubt that you will be raising powerful, brilliant, sweet girls. As an early childhood educator I can say with confidence that children learn through the people in which the are constantly around and experience, especially at that age they are like sponges and take in and repeat everything they see or hear. So as long as you two continue to do and say what you already are saying and doing the girls will become women you will forever be proud of.
Again thank you for this platform I am excited for more!”
