“Not so many podcasts or shows about Asians, so I just love these topics! As a first generation immigrant, I remained voiceless in company for the first 10-15 years because of the mindset of being “respectful” and “obedient”. Then I realized the promotion will not automatically arrive and my contribution will not be recognized by hardworking alone. It’s about my culture and adjustment. Therefore, I share my thoughts when I raise my daughters and I want them to be more confident and assertive. It’s not easy to raise them due to generation and culture gaps. The show gave a lot valuable suggestions and I wish I knew these earlier. Also, the episode about struggles and competition of college admission, I enjoyed the discussion. My two older daughters just went to college and experienced the harsh competition. I learn and grow along with them about how to present yourself as an Asian American. The show shared ideas resonated with me. Looking forward to more relevant topics about Asians culture, community, family values, struggles, achievements and more...”
