Not what I expected
No idea how this is charting. Probably because the title of this podcast is the definition of clickbait. I thought when downloading this that the hosts would be examining themes through the lens of all the incredible allusion and literary genetic memory that Rowling has woven into the HP series...but alas, that is NOT what this is. Their commentary is unbearably full of pop culture and too saccharine, like a buzzfeed article masquerading as an academic literary review. The hosts spend way too much time talking about their own lives and theorizing about things that are hardly even tangential to the books. They could cut 6 solid minutes of banter from the show and add a lot more substance about the books.

I look forward to this podcast every week! It's a fascinating look at books that I've loved since I was a child, and it's wonderful to know that there are so many more episodes to come. I'm already excited to get to the later books!Read full review »
