What gaming podcasts have been missing
This podcast has quickly moved to the top of my list; when a new one is published, I stop whatever else I was listening to and listen to Heavy Cardboard all the way through. This is a terrific podcast that takes its time exploring, in solid detail, games most other podcasts just gloss over. It’s engaging, serious, and useful. Props to these gentlemen for bucking the trend of covering every new game as quickly as possible, and instead focusing for a long time on a single, meaty game. The most fascinating part about the podcast is how they explore, for roughly an hour, their feature game. They don’t do a rules run-through - the hour is spent purely analyzing mechanisms, strategic implications, and depth of play. It’s the most rigorous examination of heavy strategy games I know of in a recurring podcast, and the hour flies by. Keep doing the excellent work, gentlemen.

The best podcast focusing on the heavier boardgames. If you are interested in heavy boardgames that are not always wargames these are the two gentlemen for you. I hope they stay around for awhile.
