Good Podcast
I listened to Heavy Hands before when it was just Conor and some part timer. I like Conor, but it’s better when he has a dedicated co-host to work off of. Patrick Wyman is a great choice as a co-host. I know he does some other podcasts, and they’re good…but nothing like this. Conor’s the perfect co-host for a guy like Pat too. Pat’s good, but he has that tweedy intellectual to him. I know he tranes and he’s not just some pencil pusher, but he still has a bit of that to him. Conor’s a great counterweight to that, he comes off like a guy with some real “cock and balls” to him…a man’s man. Like when Pat does a show with that Zane Simon or Mike Fagan, they seem like nice guys…but to me they kinda come off like a couple of needle necked pickle sniffers. This is cage fighting we’re talking here, not golf. Reebush is a great contrast to the guys that overthink everything with his “grunt and fart” style. He comes off a guy that can still appreciate facing the pain.

Oftentimes technical analysis can by pretty dry, but Heavy Hands is both entertaining and informative. Connor and Patrick are fantastic, I learn something new every week.

Only until very recently I've become aware of the depth and nuances of the striking aspect of martial arts. I used to think striking was random and boring, but articles and videos of guys like Lawrence Kenshin and Jack Slack have opened my eyes. And Heavy Hands has also been a big part of this...Read full review »
