“Looking for your own personal guide through the entire Mignolaverse…how about 3? You could not ask for a better listening/reading experience while delving through the tomes of Hellboy, BPRD, Lobster Johnson, et al. From the very first episode, you can hear the enthusiasm and passion for these incredible stories as Aubrey and Danielle are reading them for the first time and John is revisiting them and acting as de facto leader. Their casual and sincere conversation is wonderful. Each of them brings with them all of their love for the comics, literature, cinema, music and art.
Definitely a highlight of the show is the LISTENER FEEDBACK. This was initially a place for John to read the emails from listeners who commented on the episodes. However, through real and actual FRIENDSHIPS this would give birth to a thriving community! Through this correspondence it led to the inclusion of Matt Strackbein and Mark Tweedale as frequent guests. Two more people who happily share their in depth knowledge and personal experiences with the Mignolaverse.
What a stroke of luck to have found this podcast! It has been a great font of knowledge and spark of creativity with my own comics writing.
