Hooray, a new addition to my library!
I met Jaques Pepin at the very early James Beard awards when they were at Lincoln Center. At the New York State Theater.
He was dancing with Martha Stewart, mistress of ceremonies. It was the Ally McBeal era of short skirts and long jackets with shoulder pads. Martha was wearing a powder blue! She had her shoes kicked off and Jacques was twirling her around the dance floor!
I have a photo that was taken of me with Jacques Pepin and Pierre Franey. Still on my fridge to this day, 20+ years later. He was lovely and treated me like a Michelin star chef and I was nothing more than a line cook in a white coat and an apron.
I have just started listening to the podcast and I almost want to do it in waves. I know I’m going to love the whole interview. Two of my favorite people, I won’t want it to end.”
